URALSIB Financial Corporation becomes a primary sponsor of the XIV International Bank Congress

Uralsib at the Congress:

Mr. Tsvetkov, President of URALSIB Financial Corporation, made a speech at the plenary session;

Members of the delegation took part in round-table discussions on insurance, asset management and banking;

URALSIB participated with an exhibition stand;

Several meetings with prospective clients and partners were held.

Issued discussed:

Development of the banking sector;

An increasing role of the banking sector in economic development;

Ways to control and regulate the activity of banks both individually and as an industry;

URALSIB Financial Corporation as a primary sponsor of the IX International Economic Forum
14-16 June 2005, Saint Petersburg
The Forum brought together more than 3,000 politicians and businessmen from 60 countries. Attendees included Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Aliev, chief executives and politicians from Canada, Norway, Finland, Macedonia, Montenegro and many other countries, along with parliamentary leaders from Egypt, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The Forum comprised:
32 round-table discussions, three large conferences and an exhibition entitled "CIS countries and Russia's Federal Districts: towards an effective economy". The summit was covered by the major television channels, newspapers, magazines and news agencies of both Russia and the CIS.
URALSIB Financial Corporation at the VII World Congress of Russian Press.
30 August – 1st September 2005, Helsinki - Stockholm
The Congress was attended by Russian and foreign media professionals and executives as well as eminent politicians – a total of about 200 people from 52 countries. The Congress was organized by the Association of Russian Press, which brings together Russian-language media from all over the world, and ITAR-TASS.
Representatives of URALSIB Financial Corporation made two of the three principal reports including a speech before chief editors of Russian printed media.
The Congress was an important event in terms of expanding the readership of Russian language media, promoting the Russian language, strengthening contacts and developing new approaches to covering events in Russia.

URALSIB Financial Corporation takes part in UN 60th Anniversary celebrations

URALSIB Financial Corporation took part in the production of Sixty Years and One Day, a film devoted to the 60th anniversary of the United Nations. The film was screened at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Appearing in the film were:
Russian President Vladimir Putin; US President George Bush, Jr.; former US Presidents George Bush, Sr., and Bill Clinton; UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and former Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and John Major; former German Chancellors Helmut Kohl and Gerhard Schroeder; many other presidents and prime ministers, and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan .
Present at the screening were:
Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General; Vitalii Ignatenko, General Director of ITAR-TASS; Andrey Hazin, Head of the Federation Council Commission for International Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation; Alexei Vikhrov, URALSIB Financial Corporation Executive Director, PR.

URALSIB takes part in Russian Civil Service Academy's video conference on ‘Municipal governance in the context of evolving intergovernmental fiscal relations'

This video conference was the closing event of the program organized by the Russian Presidential Executive Office, the Federation Council Commission for International Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation, the Ministry of Regional Development, and URALSIB Financial Corporation, which was a sponsor of the event.
The project provides distance learning opportunities for municipal staff and managers in the Central and North-Western Federal Districts. The course is based on the Municipal Governance program, which uses new technologies and training products such as e-learning. This technology provides broad access to high-level professional training programs and uses digital data sources to ensure minimum interference with the trainee's work.
